Dickson District Playing Fields is located in Antill Street and is one of the largest grounds in Canberra. It is also one of the highest use grounds in Canberra. There is an open concrete stormwater channel on the southern side of the ground. There are two large sealed car parks off Antill Street as well as an unsealed overflow car park which is kept locked, but available to hirers who are issued with keys or upon request it can be opened by a ranger.
There are 5 football fields and 3 combination fields and all are floodlit to training standard. In winter the ground is used primarily for football and is the home of the Majura Junior Soccer Club. The Majura Club have there own club house and canteen at the north-eastern end of the ground. The North Canberra Touch competition runs at Dickson in both the winter and summer months on Monday evenings. There are also year round Ultimate competitions and Oztag in the summer. There is a dedicated athletics field with a 100m and 400m track, long jump pits with synthetic run-ups and throwing areas (located across the footbridge that crosses the stormwater channel), and it is the home of the Corroboree Little Athletics Club. The Athletics facility is also used by the Bilby’s Triathlon Club.
There are two synthetic cricket wickets and a turf wicket as well as a 3-bay cricket practice facility that is kept locked and is used by the North Canberra Gungahlin Junior Cricket Club.
The large Dickson shopping centre is a five minute walk away and can be found by crossing the footbridge over the stormwater channel and heading west along the cycle path, or by driving west along Antill Street
