Southwell Park - Lyneham 2, is located on the corner of Northbourne Avenue and Mouat Street. It is one of Canberra's oldest playing fields and is named in honour of the pioneering Southwell family. The ACT Netball Centre is located to the northern side of the ground and the National Hockey Centre is loacted on the western boundary.

Southwell Park, beacause of it's size and central loaction, has and continues to host large sporting events. The annual Kanga Cup junior Football carnival, and the annual Rugby Sevens junior carnival are all held here. In 1977 the ground hosted the World Archery Championships.

Southwell Park is in the final stages of a complete refurbishment, with the final surface works to be completed in early 2014. Currently Southwell Park is configured withtwo synthetic cricket wickets,five combination football fields andten touch football fields. The football fields are all floodlit to competition standard.Once the final field works are completed, Southwell Park will have three synthetic cricket wickets,seven combination football fields andfourteen touch football fields.

The large Dickson Shopping precient is located a short stroll away to the south-east.
